The Skater’s Journey: Gearing up for U.S. Sectionals

As October came to a close, so did the nine U.S. Regional competitions for the 2013-2014 season. That means that in just a couple weeks, the top four skaters in each Regional event will compete in Sectionals! From there, top athletes will go on to compete at U.S. Nationals, Worlds and the Olympics.

Here are this season’s three Sectional competitions, which take place November 19-23. Mark your calendars!

More than 1,300 events, which include performances, exhibitions and competitions, are sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating each year—not to mention the thousands of skating events worldwide.

To stay up to date on competition schedules, news and results, be sure to check back at iSkateRiedell often. We’ll be counting down to U.S. Nationals, which begin January 5 in Boston. Then on to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. This is sure to be a very exciting figure skating season!
