Elena Radionova Catches a Twins Game (and a Northern) During Trip to Minnesota
Elena Radionova has wowed crowds in her home country of Russia and in major cities around the world. In fact, she hit the podium eight times during the 2014-2015 season (her first on the senior level) including first-place finishes at the 2014 Japan Open, 2014 Skate America, 2014 Trophée Éric Bompard and 2015 Russian Championships.
A competition schedule like that leaves little time to get away, especially for the No. 2 skater in the world. But last month Elena had some rare time off and was able to fly halfway across the world to visit our home state of Minnesota. So we did our best to show her everything the Land of 10,000 Lakes has to offer.
Riedell Factory & SCG:
We gave Elena a firsthand look at the Riedell factory and the precision that goes into each handcrafted skate. We also stopped off at our favorite marketing agency to introduce Elena and talk social media. (Elena is big on Instagram. You might want to join her 44.6k followers.)
Mall of America:

In addition to touring the Riedell factory, Elena stopped by the world-renowned Mall of America in Bloomington. The 4.2 million square foot mall is second largest in the world and boasts over 100,000 customers daily. Here’s another fun fact: If Elena spent 10 minutes at every store, it would have taken her 86 hours to finish shopping.
Twins Game:
Elena also enjoyed the unbeatable atmosphere of a Minnesota Twins game at Target Field. The sun was bright, the sky was blue and we all had the chance to take in America’s pastime at one of the best stadiums in the country. Oh, and in case you were wondering, Minnesota beat the Boston Red Sox 6-4.
Fishing:
No doubt fishing is one of the most popular activities in our state. We took Elena out on the lake during a beautiful afternoon to show her what it’s all about. Not only was she excellent at this sport too, but she had no reservations about holding her freshly caught fish!
