A Riedell History Lesson

Today, our factory looks a little different, but here's out it looked many years ago.

Here's how the Riedell factory looked many years ago.

We know you love your Riedell skates (of course—you’re here)!  But would you like a peek at how the work at our Red Wing factory (60 years and counting!) ensures you can skate your best when you lace up your Riedells?

Riedell boots are hand crafted in Red Wing, Minnesota, a small town along the Mississippi River in southeastern Minnesota. Paul Riedell and his wife Sophie started Riedell and today the 4th generation of boot makers (and skating enthusiasts) is working to make sure your feet are happy when you hit the ice—and even hours after!

Master Skate Designers and Boot Makers craft boots using a 125-step process and high quality materials (have you seen our video on Facebook?) that ensure each boot meets our high Riedell quality standards. From the Minnesota town, Riedell boots are distributed globally through a network of trained dealers that can help you find the perfect boot for your skating needs—whether you are just beginning or are an Olympic contender.

For more behind the scenes insight on the work and dedication that goes into every pair of Riedell boots, check out this great MPR story.
