Joannie Rochette Takes Time to Give Back in Peru

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Riedell skater Joannie Rochette shares the details of a life-changing trip she took to Peru with World Vision Canada in the October issue of IFS Magazine. As their new spokeswoman, Joannie traveled to Peru for 7 days with the Canadian humanitarian organization to gain perspective on the poverty and hunger issues facing people across the globe and see first-hand how World Vision is making a difference and improving lives.

Without the benefit of ice—it does not exist in the city of Lima or Cusco, a village in the Andes Mountains—Joannie still managed to give children figure skating demonstrations that left everyone wide-eyed. To learn more about Joannie’s trip, pick up the current issue of IFS, watch a video here or check out her amazing pictures on her website.

New ice.RiedellSkates.com Showcases Redesigned Figure Skates

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Skaters can locate dealers worldwide and search for figure skates by test level
Leading skate designer and manufacturer Riedell Skates recently launched its new website, showcasing Riedell’s top skaters and its 2009 skate line. Riedell’s redesigned figure skate collection includes eleven new boot and feature designs, along with several restyled favorites.

The new ice site—now ice.riedellskates.com—offers several updated features to make finding the perfect figure skate easy. Visitors can now magnify the skates to better examine performance and comfort features while online. An easy drop down menu on the home page provides skate recommendations based on test level and locates the closest dealer by region. RiedellSkates.com has also been updated and offers direct access to either the ice site or roller site.

“One of the most frequently asked questions we hear from figure skaters and their parents is ‘what is the best Riedell Skate for me?’ The answer is it depends on your experience and test level. Now parents and skaters can start to learn about the perfect skate for them before visiting the dealer for sizing and fitting,” explains Dan Riegelman, Vice President of Marketing, Riedell Skates. “Our enhanced Dealer Locator connects skaters with the closest dealer—whether they are located nationally or internationally. With dealers across North America and in more than 45 countries, we know we have a dealer nearby and now finding the information has never been easier.” Visitors can also download current Riedell ads and catalogs, which feature some of the hottest skaters today.

To help enthusiasts stay current on Riedell’s figure skating stars and news, the site provides easy access to its dynamic new online community through Riedell’s Facebook Fan Page and iSkateRiedell.com blog. Here skaters can share their Riedell stories, while checking out coaching and lifestyle tips offering practical advice to make the most of ice time. Riedell Facebook fans also have access to videos, photos, discussion boards and a schedule of skating events. “We want to stay connected with our loyal fans and appreciate their support and input,” comments Riegelman.

The new site also features The World’s Best Blades: John Wilson and MK, which offer superior performance, an unsurpassed English elegance and revolutionary Parabolic style. Similar to the boot pages, the site offers magnified blade images.

To explore the ice site and its new features, visit ice.riedellskates.com. Visitors are invited to share their experiences on Riedell’s Facebook Fan Page or iSkateRiedell.com
