As the 2011 U.S. Nationals junior pewter medalist, Riedell skater McKinzie Daniels debuted at the senior level just last year.

Born in 1995, McKinzie first began skating at age 5 when her dad, who played hockey, took her to the ice rink. Years later (and with many skating medals and accomplishments under her belt), McKinzie still puts her trust in Riedell’s 375 Gold Star Classic.

Balancing school and a busy training schedule is challenging, but her dedication to both has paid off. McKinzie is an honors student at Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado, where her family moved from Illinois so McKinzie could train at Broadmoor SC and pursue her figure skating dreams.

After her figure skating career, McKinzie wants to go to college and is thinking about a job in the medical field, possibly as a pediatrician.

When off the ice, McKinzie loves mountain biking with her skating friends. While taking in the nature and fresh air of Colorado, mountain biking is also a great workout for off-ice training. We’re looking forward to seeing McKinzie hit the ice in the upcoming 2012-2013 figure skating season!
