When it comes to figure skating there are always new skills to learn and perfect. It’s one of the things that we love most about the sport! Whether you’re new to the ice, just beginning to learn jumps or you’ve landed a double axel, that sense of accomplishment keeps you coming back for more.

It’s important to remember that as you progress in skating skills, so will your equipment needs. Skating boots and blades are designed with performance in mind and certain boot and blade features are better suited to specific skills.

Choosing the right boot and blade for your needs is not an easy decision. There are a wide variety of figure skate options to choose from, and it’s important to select the best possible combination of boot and blade based on your skating needs.

Your discipline of focus in skating and the jumps and spins that you will be working on should be at the top of your list when considering new boots and blades. A beginner practicing stops or bunny hops has different needs for boots and blades than the needs of a skater working on triple jumps.

Riedell Skates is here to help you with the skate boot and blade selection process. We’ve created helpful range charts for boots and blades that divide skating skills into six categories called “Riedell Ranges.” Each range matches up jumps, spins and test levels to our skates and blades that would be appropriate for the skills in that range. There are several options available to you at each skill level.

The skate boot and blade range charts are downloadable for your convenience. Click below now to find the boot and blade for you.

Would like pricing and fit information for the Aria boots and Eclipse blades. My skater is a size 6 1/2 B boot.

Thank you.
