We’re on our way to Greensboro, NC to attend the 2011 U.S. Figure Skating Championships that kick off tomorrow. It’s hard to believe that Nationals is already here—it seems like the competitive season just started. Tis’ the Season to be Skating, When Ponds are Aplenty, Like Flowers hitting their stride, Just at the Right Time, The Moment to Arise, Step up to the Plate, Face the Unique Occasion, Where butterflies roam Free, Angels Fall from the Sky, A Rainbow takes Center Stage, The air is full of Life, The Ice is twice as Nice, The season sweeps you away, Left nothing short of breathless, When the Ice, Broken or not, Surrenders to something bigger than any man, Where medal or not, The Journey is what matters It is the time to embrace, Share the moment with all that matter to you, For love of the sport and so much more, It is what rinks were built upon, Like the Roman Cathedral, More than just a far‐fetched vision, It is the Dreams get Realized, What awaits at the end, But a Pot of Gold, Lucky Charms and Superstitions, Waiting for the Moment, The time of living.

Parker Pennington’s ‘Skate For Life’ a Huge Success

The second annual Skate for Life, hosted by Riedell skater Parker Pennington, raised more than $23,000—surpassing last year’s amount by $3,000. Skate for Life, which was held on June 27 at the Hoover Arena in Strongsville, Ohio, is an ice show benefit for muscular dystrophy. World, Olympic and U.S. skating champions and competitors, hip-hop dancers and live singers helped raise money to find a cure for muscular dystrophy. To learn more about the event click here.

Riedell Skaters Participate in Skate for Hope

Riedell skaters Rachael Flatt and Parker Pennington are donating their time and skating talents to help raise awareness for breast cancer research. Skate for Hope is an annual figure skating show that raises money to find a cure for breast cancer. The event has raised over $215,000 to help find a cure. 2009 Skate for Hope will take place on Saturday June 20, 2009 at 5:00 pm at the Nationwide Arena in downtown Columbus, Ohio.
